The National Energy Public Key Infrastructure (NEPKI) Ltd has officially incorporated, marking a major step in strengthening the security and resilience of Australia’s distributed and consumer energy resources. Supported by funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) through its Advancing Renewables Program, NEPKI will operate a trusted certificate authority and related services to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient digital infrastructure for the nation’s clean energy transition.
To guide its development, NEPKI has appointed an experienced inaugural Board of Directors, including Independent Chair Lachlan Blackhall and directors Anissa Levy, Caitlin Trethewy, Ed Chan, James Brown, and Energy Networks Australia’s designated director Dominic Adams. “As Australia moves towards a cleaner, distributed energy future, we need to make sure the digital systems that support our electricity grid are safe and reliable. NEPKI will help provide that assurance for businesses, communities, and households alike,” said Chair Lachlan Blackhall. The board has also appointed Naomi Wynn as CEO and Travis Kauschke as COO to operationalise NEPKI’s core services.
