About the Role
CAPA Intelligence is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to help protect and defend Australia's critical energy infrastructure.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the defence of our renewables infrastructure, helping to monitor and analyse emerging cyber threats, conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, produce intelligence reports and provide trusted advice to electricity sector clients. You will work closely with customers, contribute to the development of CAPA's cybersecurity products and services, and help improve threat detection, monitoring and resilience capabilities across critical infrastructure environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and analysing threat intelligence sources (OSINT, government & sector advisories)
- Producing threat intelligence reports, risk assessments and customer briefings.
- Conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and vulnerability analysis.
- Supporting the development of cybersecurity products, analytics and detection capabilities.
- Engaging directly with clients and presenting technical findings to a range of stakeholders.
- Contributing to cybersecurity documentation, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across cybersecurity, threat intelligence and operational resilience.
Requirements
Must have:
Experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, security operations or cyber risk management.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat intelligence and risk assessment methodologies.
Strong technical skills - at a minimum at a principles level - to enable diagnosis of attack paths and TTPs through Enterprise and/or OT infrastructure.
Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
Experience presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, problem solving and tenacity to reach outcomes in complex environments.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate with teammates across different disciplines.
Nice to have:
Experience working with critical infrastructure, operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS) or the electricity sector.
Experience with threat intelligence platforms, SIEM technologies, IDS/IPS or vulnerability management tools.
Knowledge of frameworks such as Essential Eight, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 or IEC 62443.
Python, automation, data analytics or infrastructure-as-code experience.
Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, GCTI, GCIA or CISM.
